Our 2020/21 season preparations continue with the signing of tricky wide man Jesse Dowling who comes with goals in the tank.
Q: What’s made you choose Winsford United?
A: I know a couple of lads already who are training with the team, it’s always good to play with your mates which was one of the reasons. The main reason being that quite a few clubs over the lock-down got in touch so I had a bit of a decision. I spoke to 3/4 coaches and a few players as well asking for a bit of advice, and the majority said that Winsford would be a good move because it’s a good setup and I heard they’re going to be pushing on this year and hoping to get promotion!
Q: What can the supporters expect from you?
A: They can expect me to give everything on the pitch to help the team to win as many games as possible! I’ll work hard from the first to the last minute and hopefully chip in with a lot of goals/assists.
Q: What are your hopes for this season? Individual and team?
A: I’m always looking to do better than I did the previous season. I think I scored 14/15 last season so this season I’m hoping to hit at least that minimum, I’d be happy to reach the 20 goals! As a team I think it would be nice to get promoted and have a good cup run!
Q: What have you been up to in Lock-down?
A: I've not long ago had a baby, so all through the lock-down I’ve enjoyed spending time with her and the family watching her grow and spend as much time with her as possible! I missed the footie a lot but tried to keep myself fit by going out on a few runs when I could!
Q: How’s preseason training going?
A: It’s going great. It’s feels good to get back onto the grass with a football. It’s been tough in terms of fitness levels but that’s what we need, It’s been a long time since last playing football!
