Fans Favourite, 'Shorty' Signs For Another Season

Winsford Utd are delighted to announce that last seasons leading goal scorer and Managers player of the season, Dave Short has committed on terms for another year!

we caught up with Dave after he'd put pen to paper ....

Welcome back Dave, so tell us why you committed to WUFC.

"I committed to the club for another year simply because of the way the club is constantly looking to move in the right direction and progress on and off the field plus I couldn’t think of any other club the would go the extra mile to make the players feel appreciated and what they can offer with the feel of a family club."

What are your thoughts on last season?

Last season was really disappointing and hurt a lot at times but the board/fans/management team all stuck by the players and then we ended as strongly as we could.

What are your hopes this season?

My hopes this coming season is to push forward and look at the top 5 places in the league, but most importantly having a better run in all the cups and making some history and that. I think we can do with the players that we are bringing in.

On a personal note just hoping to be a massive part to the team in the sense of bringing people into the group and making them feel a part of what we are trying too build and then maybe hold down 1 or 2 positions so that I can build some form and get myself firing to where I can be .

Thanks Dave, I’m sure the supporters can’t wait to see you playing again!

Ducko says:

Shorty is a leader! Last year he played in multiple positions to help the team out to the detriment of his personal goal scoring targets.

He is a competitive individual who would do anything to win and it’s those types of people that will take this club forward to where it should be, he’d 2 foot his girlfriend to win a kick about in the garden!

With Shorty’ goals in addition to Sam and Cotts who have both committed I’m sure the blues fans will see some attacking football.

= Don't Forget .... Like all players, you can sponsor Shorty for just £40 for the season =
